library mom: systematically cataloging all aspects of raising two babies at the same time
2007-01-30 ------------------------------------
Is Baby Ernie a)drunk b)high c)tired or d)just a baby version of himself?

This is what happens when the baby-fication of beloved Muppet icons goes horribly awry. As landfill-lovin' moms everywhere know, diaper companies have put baby-esque likenesses of our childhood television characters on their products. Pampers appropriated the Seasame Street gang; I think Huggies makes baby Snoopy diapers, Luvs has this blue dog named, fittingly, Blue, on theirs.
Anyway, the rest of the Sesame-Street-on-Pampers look like cute baby images of themselves. Ernie, however, looks a little . . . well, hung over, maybe even still drunk from the night before. In either case, he definitely has that bloated look; like the 5th-year senior still doing keg stands at the frat house on school nights. The droopy eyes, the half smile, sheepishly bent head.

He may need some help, but we still love him.
