------------------------------------ To the ladies lounge . . . A new era of raising two babies at the same time has occurred. We finally, sadly, moved the babies into their own room . . . the ladies lounge. The ladies lounge is a room that I used as my "craft room". I painted it in wide pink stripes (thank you, laser level) and Trading Spaced it up by putting a border of old LPs along the ceiling. See here:
Anyway, the girls had been sleeping outside our bedroom, in a space that really is just a sitting room at the top of our house. Problem is that we have absolutely no way to air condition that space. The stairway just opens up to it. And the ladies kept waking up around 4 a.m, super sweaty and uncomfortable. I resisted moving them because I loved the room -- it wasn't a typical nursery at all -- and rocked for convenience's sake: But since the move, the ladies have been sleeping through the night. Going to bed at 8:30 and waking up around 6:30 or 7. Air conditioning has helped, though I tend to think they feel comforted by all the records near the ceiling. And Lisher and I have pieces of our lives back. . . we dusted off the netflix and watched Children of Men (holy shit, completely devastating), The Prestige and the Last King of Scotland. All before 11 p.m. We rock the parental lifestyle. 10:06 p.m. 2007-07-02
