One year ago yesterday . . .

Did I mention how seriously hard it is to believe that the ladies are already one year old?

And crawling -- we've worked our way out of the commando-style to full-throttle syncopation. (For a while Ana was only using one leg in her crawling, and dragging the other one behind, which of course led to all sorts of battle-related comments.)

Anyway, the party was a success though I've finally realized that I should work on my social skills. Yesterday a guest asked me, "are your families close?" to which I replied, "no, not really" sort of sheepishly. And then after a delay, realized that she was talking about distance not personal relationships.

Anyway, we gave the ladies their Official First Cupcakes -- I made these really amazing vegan chocolate cupcakes. (Lily had an allergic reaction to some scrambled egg last week so we thought it best to be extra careful.) No eggs, girls, here's a boatload of chocolate! They showed an interesting dichotomy of personalities in eating styles -- Lily smashed hers all over her tray, whereas Ana's stayed in tact for a while as she dipped her fingers into the icing over and over.
